Being a Kung Fu Person
To be a Kung Fu person, you have to think of Kung Fu not as a martial art; but a martial discipline. That discipline will effect a whole range of things within yourself and your life. Being a Kung Fu person means to be the most of who you are. To always strive to be your best at whatever you are engaged in at the moment. Whether it is your Kung Fu practice, your homework, your work or simply spending time with your kids. Always give one hundred percent effort to do your best. If your are to do something, it is best to do it right the first time. When a person can achieve this kind of discipline, there is little that can prevent him or her from achieving their goals.

Whether in class, at home, or on the street, a Kung Fu student is always a Kung Fu student. The way he lives his life, the discipline he has achieved, is not something that can be or should be taken off like a piece of clothing. Instead, it is the person he has become through many years of practicing Kung Fu and the philosophy that it teaches. To be truly a Kung Fu person one must embrace the attitudes of humbleness, compassion, patience and generosity.

The proper development of a person's character are as important as the physical aspects of Kung Fu training. The two must grow side by side. Students must first be very patient and willing to commit themselves to a long term goal. Kung Fu training is not something to be taken lightly but should be considered as a life long journey. If taken seriously it will help guide you through life's bumpy and twisted roads.

The choice becomes yours. If you practice your Kung Fu and the philosophy it offers, only when you are in class, the result will never be what you wished for. But by committing yourself one hundred percent in and out of class you can and will reach your chosen goal and all that it has to offer. Of that, I can assure you!
